FILLERS - Marionette Lines
These downward folds that originate from the corners of the mouth are sometimes referred to as puppet folds or sad folds. They tend to make the face look drawn, fatigued or aged especially if accompanied by a downturned mouth. Marionette folds tend to occur gradually as they deepen over time. Genetic considerations such as facial features, muscle action and sun damage may also play a role.
The abundance of collagen, elastin, and fat the skin has in youth accounts for the flawless smooth look that begins to fade in adulthood. Environmental factors, some controllable, others not (sun exposure, poor diet, smoking, and exaggerated muscle movement), accelerate the process that genetics have set in motion. We now see that static wrinkles are a matter of the skin losing these youthful elements, and this can be remedied with new advanced products such as non-animal based hyaluronic acid fillers.
Dermal fillers are a simple and quick way to refresh your appearance by restoring lost volume and filling in wrinkles and folds, especially those caused by the aging process. Dermal fillers are used to smooth the lines and creases on our faces, and "fill" areas of tissue loss that often occurs with aging. They can also fill deep scars to improve the contour of your face and even fill out your cheeks.
Many of the dermal fillers we use to treat wrinkles are bio-stimulants of the bodys own collagen. Filler are injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle and have a lasting result of up to 8-12 months. Results can be seen immediately and treatment with fillers is safe, fast and leaves no permanent scars or other traces on the face. Fillers add natural volume in your skin to lift and produce new firmness resulting in a healthy & vital appearance.
